The 1975 Scanlens VFL set was based largely on the previous year, with the ribbon design in the bottom left corner changed to an oval shape. 144 cards made up the set – 132 players cards and 12 team checklists. The back of the cards comprised the Magic Football Quiz with 2 questions per card. The set came in 2 separate print runs and as a result, there were different versions of the cards, one with a white back and another with a brown back. 1975 was the year Kevin Murray pioneered a look that would be embraced by basketball legend Larry Bird the following decade.
