1926 Cains Sweets

1926 Cains Sweets

Collection: 36 cards
Scarcity rating: 9
Cains Sweets produced both rugby and aussie rules swap cards in the mid-1920s. In 1926 they produced a set of 36 cards of VFL players, all from Fitzroy and Collingwood. This is because they decided to feature players who participated in the round 1 match between the Lions and Pies. Too bad if you didn’t make selection that week! The cards are very thin and flimsy and include the rookie card of Jack Beveridge (Luke Beveridge’s grandfather) which for some reason has a blank back. All other cards have writing on the back.
