Griffiths Bros was a company which operated as tea and coffee merchants and as a cafe proprietor with connections in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane. In 1929 they produced a set of footy cards to promote Black Crow Cough Drops. It was a big set with 216 players featured, so a lot of random names got their own piece of cardboard! Although 6 of the cards have not been seen in modern times and hence noone knows who the players were, or if they were even printed. The cards were square and small, featuring headshots in black and white of VFL players.
