Coles released a second series of football swap cards in 1954, also comprising 56 cards. They looked almost identical to the first release, including only the players first initial and surname on the front of the cards. The distinguishing feature was the back, where a semi-circle displayed the text “Exclusive Coles Production”. Series 2 was fairly average in terms of the players featured, however it did contain 2 John Coleman cards which are immensely popular. John Coleman doesn’t have a tonne of cards from his actual playing days and 4 of them are Coles cards! The set also features the great Ted Whitten, one of the other key targets.
