The 1974 VFL set was the largest Scanlens set to date, with 144 cards in total, comprising 132 players cards and 12 team checklists. It was also the first time checklists were included to help collectors with their hobby of completing the set. The back of each player card contained their stats, another first. Gary Dempsey obviously made an impression on the field, as he appears twice in the set (#89 and #111). As does Bomber Alan Noonan (#99 and #126). It seems Rod Ashman made less of an impression, as his card states his name as Robert. The set also has 12 sticker inserts, one for each of the VFL teams.
